Mr. Levin writes on property insurance and time element coverage for IRMI.com. He was a member of the CGL Reporter Editorial Board in 2016–2018 and provided expertise on property, builders risk, construction, and bad faith liability matters.
Mr. Levin is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on insurance coverage disputes and has served as the chair of Offit Kurman's Insurance Recovery Group. He has tried cases to verdict, both jury and non-jury, in state and federal courts and has arbitrated cases before the American Arbitration Association and in private binding arbitration. Mr. Levin also has over 30 years' experience briefing and arguing appeals in state and federal court.
Mr. Levin has extensive litigation experience in multimillion dollar property insurance coverage cases, including cause and origin, valuation, and business interruption issues. He has also litigated significant cases involving coverage for professional liability, general liability, medical malpractice, bad faith, and construction defects. Mr. Levin assists policyholders in responding to inquiries and in pointing out errors in the insurer's coverage position and counsels clients in evaluating coverage, primarily in property and professional liability insurance. He frequently speaks on insurance coverage and has participated in programs sponsored by the American Bar Association, Computer Law Association, and Mealey's.
Mr. Levin received his juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his bachelor of arts from the University of Pennsylvania. He is an active member and past chair of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Property Insurance Law Committee. Mr. Levin is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, DC. Mr. Levin is also admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court, the US Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits, and numerous district courts.
