MLIS Core Courses

Virtually no organizations are immune to the risks associated with the Internet and electronic commerce. This course takes a look at the types of exposures companies face and provides a detailed review of the kinds of policy forms that have been designed to cover these exposures. The course concludes by examining the most common exclusions found within cyber and privacy policy forms, focusing on the manner in which such wordings vary from insurer-to-insurer, and explaining how these variations exert significant impact on the scope of coverage that cyber and privacy policies provide.

Enroll in Cyber and Privacy Liability Exposures and How to Insure Them

Employment-related claims have escalated rapidly over the past few years, and having coverage to protect the business can be critical to survival. Understanding exposures and claims that employers can face and the sources of insurance coverage is essential in developing a risk management program to protect the business.

Enroll in EPL: Understanding the Exposures and Insurance Coverage

This course has two goals—to take a detailed look at the fiduciary liability exposures that were created by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974 and to review the insurance policies that have been developed to cover these liability exposures.

Enroll in Fiduciary Liability: What You Need to Know About Exposures and Insurance

This course is designed to give a moderately experienced insurance person a detailed look at the key provisions contained within a corporate directors and officers (D&O) liability insurance policy and how they function within various claims scenarios. The manner in which a D&O policy’s limits, retentions, and coinsurance provisions apply is considered next, followed by a look at the policy’s most important conditions. The course reviews the exclusions section of the policy and the claims-made coverage trigger provisions.

Enroll in How to Insure D&O Liabilities

Understanding the legal liability exposures faced by directors and officers can be daunting. This course addresses the common law and statutory exposures, the situations that can give rise to claims, the legal defenses available when a claim is made, and methods of preventing and controlling claims against corporate directors and officers.
