Joe Hutelmyer
Adjunct Professor and Consultant
Mr. Hutelmyer recently retired as the Chief Operating Officer of the Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation and is now consulting in the Excess and Surplus, Specialty, and Transportation Insurance sectors. He was inducted into the Insurance Business America Hall of Fame in 2018. Joe earned his Certified Wholesale Insurance Specialist designation in 1997 and his Transportation Risk Specialist designation in 2014. In 2011-2012, he received a certificate from Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business after completing the Risk Management Senior Leadership Program. He is also a licensed Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines insurance agent. Mr. Hutelmyer has been a guest lecturer at Appalachian State University, Butler University, and Middle Tennessee State University and has served on the Appalachian State University Risk Management Board for 10 years.
