IRMI Launches Free Construction Risk Management Newsletter with a Bonus White Paper—“Effective Contractual Risk Transfer in Construction"

Dallas, TX, June 30, 2009International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), has launched a monthly email newsletter focused on construction insurance and risk management. IRMI Construction Risk Manager is available at no charge and includes a bonus white paper—"Effective Contractual Risk Transfer in Construction." Construction, risk, and insurance practitioners can register to receive the free newsletter and obtain a link to the white paper.

Written for construction financial executive and risk managers as well as the insurance professionals who serve the construction industry, IRMI Construction Risk Manager provides practical and actionable strategies for managing construction risk; purchasing, selling, or underwriting construction insurance; or adjusting construction insurance claims. Topics covered include additional insured status, contractual risk transfer, design-build liability, construction defect, wrap-ups, and more.

The bonus white paper—"Effective Contractual Risk Transfer in Construction"—provides a concise overview of strategies for improving the contractual risk transfer process from the point of view of both the risk transferor and the risk transferee. Both legal and insurance issues are addressed. Ms. Hickman is also the editor of Construction Risk Management, and several course texts for the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®) certification program. She also serves as the curriculum director for the IRMI Construction Risk Conference. Ms. Hickman holds an MA in insurance from the University of Georgia.
