IRMI President Jack Gibson Elected as Honorary Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel
Dallas, TX, July 17, 2017—Jack P. Gibson, president and CEO of International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), and CEO of WebCE, has been elected as an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel (ACCEC). Mr. Gibson was elected because of "his extraordinary contributions to the field of insurance law."
"It’s an amazing and very unexpected honor to be recognized in this manner by the insurance coverage law community," said Mr. Gibson. "Especially since I’m not a lawyer, this is particularly meaningful and downright humbling."
While serving as leader of IRMI for 35 years, Mr. Gibson coauthored 11 reference works on insurance and risk management, including Contractual Risk Transfer and The Additional Insured Book. He has also cochaired the IRMI Construction Risk Conference and presented at most of them during this time. Mr. Gibson earned a BBA in risk management and insurance and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.
ACCEC is a national organization comprised of almost 300 preeminent lawyers involved in coverage and extracontractual matters, with Fellows representing both policyholders and insurers and honorary members from academia. Established in 2012, the college is focused on the creative, ethical, and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes, peer-provided scholarship, professional coordination, and the improvement of the relationship among its diverse members.
