Jesse Thompson Receives Words of Wisdom Award at IRMI Energy Risk & Insurance Conference

Dallas, TX, February 27, 2019—Jesse Thompson, senior business economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Houston branch, was honored by International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), with the IRMI Words of Wisdom (WOW) Award at the IRMI Energy Risk & Insurance Conference (ERIC).

The WOW Award recognizes an exceptional speaker who has made an outstanding contribution to IRMI conferences and consistently lands in the top tier of attendee speaker evaluations. In addition to their technical expertise, WOW Award recipients demonstrate exceptional presentation skills and freely share practical tips and strategies that attendees can put into practice.

"He has presented at six IRMI conferences on the state of the oil and gas industry, and he is always on point with insightful analysis and engaging content. Mr. Thompson conducts research on the Houston and Gulf Coast economy, the impacts of shale gas on U.S. industry, and contributes to the Beige Book publication of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He has a master of arts in economics, with an emphasis on empirical microeconomics, from the University of Houston. Mr. Thompson is the author of the monthly Houston Economic Indicators and the semiannual Houston Business Newsletter and contributes to the quarterly publication Southwest Economy.

ERIC is an annual event that brings together risk management and insurance professionals in the energy industry to explore risk management strategies, discuss emerging risks, and network with peers. The next ERIC will be held March 1–March 3, 2020, in Houston.
