Maureen McLendon Memorial Golf Tournament

Dallas, TX, April 23, 2015—The 2015 All Industry Day and Maureen McLendon Memorial Golf Tournament were held Monday at Prestonwood Country Club in Dallas, Texas. IRMI was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor for the event, hosted by the Dallas CPCU Society Chapter.

The event was held in honor of IRMI’s own Maureen McLendon, who passed away on September 10, 2014. Ms. McLendon had served as a senior research analyst at IRMI since 1985. While at IRMI, she was the principal author for Commercial Auto Insurance and Classification Cross-Reference and was a coauthor of Commercial Liability Insurance and The MCS-90 Book. A longtime member of the CPCU Society, she held a number of chairmanships and offices, including president of the Dallas Chapter, regional vice president, national director—South Central Region, and chair of the Risk Management Interest Section, and served on several national committees and task forces.

All three of Ms. McLendon’s children, Charles, Angela, and Susan, attended the event. Fourteen of Ms. McLendon’s colleagues from IRMI were in attendance, as well, to show IRMI’s continued support of the Dallas CPCU Society Chapter.

In honor of Ms. McLendon, the Dallas CPCU Society Chapter presented to Ms. McLendon’s children a $2,500 check for the Texas Risk & Insurance Professionals Society (TRIPS) to support scholarships for the University of North Texas’s risk management students.

Anyone wishing to donate to the scholarship fund may send a check payable to the Texas Risk & Insurance Professionals Society, 12222 Merit Drive, Suite 1600, Dallas, TX 75251. Those wishing to donate with a credit card can do so through the JustGive.org website. Make your JustGive.org contribution to the Texas Risk & Insurance Professionals Society and indicate the "Maureen C. McLendon Scholarship Fund" in the box for describing how the donation should be used.
