Press Release

New IRMI Reference Makes Personal Lines Easier

Dallas, TX, March 9, 2001International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), has recently published Personal Risk Management and Insurance to help insurance professionals work with and train others on the use of the standard homeowners and personal auto policies. It is a practical guide designed to help both experienced and inexperienced insurance professionals. The new publication uses the same formula of presenting policy and endorsement language and following it with detailed, plain-English explanations that has made the IRMI commercial lines reference library popular with agents, brokers, underwriters, adjusters, and lawyers.

Personal Risk Management and Insurance addresses many of the problems encountered by insurance professionals and their clients, such as homeowners coverage gaps, personal auto coverage deficiencies, improper valuation clauses, and language ambiguities.

"IRMI has earned a great deal of respect in the industry for its commercial lines coverage annotations and strategies, and we have received many requests over the years to do similar work in personal lines. This new reference manual is our response to our customers, and we are determined to exceed the industry's expectations with the information it provides through the ongoing supplement service," said the author, IRMI senior research analyst Rob Olson, CPCU, ARM, ARP.

Personal Risk Management and Insurance also utilizes real-life claims scenarios when discussing the forms and endorsements to clarify its policy interpretations and coverage points. In other words, it places the form and endorsement language "into action." It will serve not only as a practical reference but also as a training tool for agency staff.

Personal Risk Management and Insurance is currently available in print format (two Three-ring binders), and will soon be available in electronic format. It will become part of the IRMI electronic library on both Silver Plume and IRMI CD by June 2001. The print version of Personal Risk Management and Insurance is offered at a charter price of $175, which includes the first year's supplements.
