New Second Edition of The MCS-90 Book Clears the Fog Surrounding This Confusing Insurance Endorsement for Truckers, Their Insurers, and Brokers
Dallas, TX, August 11, 2011—International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI), is pleased to announce a new second edition of The MCS-90 Book. Written by several highly regarded insurance experts, this important work provides key insight into the increasingly litigated one-page endorsement required by the Motor Carrier Act of 1980 to be attached to auto insurance policies of truckers and certain other motor carriers.
The MCS-90 Book identifies many potential pitfalls, coverage traps, underwriting concerns, and claims issues associated with this often-misunderstood endorsement. The MCS-90 Book is coauthored by Gregory G. Deimling, CPCU, ARM, AMIM, CSRM, and Donald S. Malecki, CPCU, both principals in Malecki Deimling Nielander and Associates, LLC; Kathleen J. Robison, CPCU, ARM, AU, AIC, CPIW, a senior consultant at Malecki Deimling Nielander and Associates, LLC; and Maureen C. McLendon, CPCU, ARM, CRIS, a senior research analyst at IRMI.
"The MCS-90 endorsement is added to many truckers and motor carrier policies to ensure that the insured motor carrier is in compliance with federally mandated financial responsibility laws, by providing adequate insurance limits for not only bodily injury and property damage liability but also environmental restoration," said IRMI President & CEO Jack P. Gibson. "The endorsement is highly misunderstood, which leads to errors in its use and then to litigation. Anyone who sells to or buys insurance for trucking companies should read this book."
The second edition of The MCS-90 Book is now available in print format for $56 and, for IRMI Online access, $28 for individuals or $56 for small businesses. For more information about this book, please visit https://subscribe.irmi.com/the-mcs-90-book or call 1–800–827–4242.
