Mr. Cooper, who writes about courts and coverage for IRMI.com, is a named shareholder in the Dallas office of Cooper & Scully, P.C., where his practice areas include appellate, insurance, business and commercial law, products liability, insurance defense, and bad faith. A native of Dallas, Mr. Cooper earned his bachelor of business administration degree, summa cum laude, with distinction, from Texas A&M University in 1974. He earned his juris doctorate, cum laude, at Southern Methodist University in 1977 where he was also Order of the Coif. He is admitted to practice in Texas and Oklahoma; the US Supreme Court; Fifth, Eight, and Tenth Circuit US Court of Appeals; US District Courts for the Northern District of Florida, Eastern District of Michigan, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas; and Texas Supreme Court.
