Mr. Burke authored "Casualty Damage Provisions Under Commercial Leases." He is a partner in the Dallas office of the law firm Vinson & Elkins. His practice has focused on commercial transactions since he began the practice of law in 1985. Mr. Burke has significant experience in all aspects of real estate law, including conveying improved and unimproved property, construction loans (representing borrowers and lenders), land development loans, workouts, and land development work. He also has a comprehensive background in partnership law, commercial loan transactions, construction and development contracts, and joint operating agreements relating to facilities. Mr. Burke has represented landlords and tenants in commercial, industrial, and retail leases; financial institutions in the sale of their owned real estate; and developers in the acquisition and development of land. He has spoken on various topics, including the conveyancing of income-producing property, and also has prepared an educational video for in-house client use. Mr. Burke earned his B.A. from Colgate University in 1981 and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1985.
