Mr. Baxter has been with Intellectual Property Insurance Services Corp. (IPISC) for over 20 years and is the executive vice president, underwriting manager, and general counsel. He is a registered patent attorney who underwrites applications for defensive and offensive insurance for patent, trademark, copyright, and other IP risks. While in private practice, Mr. Baxter litigated copyright, trademark, publicity rights, defamation, licensing, insurance defense, and insurance coverage cases.
He is a past chair of the IP Section of the Louisville Bar Association and a frequent speaker on issues relating to IP rights and insurance, including as a visiting lecturer for the IP Law Survey at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
Mr. Baxter received his juris doctor from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, studied physics at the University of Louisville, and received his bachelor of arts from the University of Kentucky.
