David D. Balz
Vice President, Workforce Development
With a career including engineering, construction, operations management, business development, and organizational development, Dave Balz has enjoyed wide array of responsibilities within the manufacturing, design, and construction industries. During his over 30 years with The Haskell Company, in the Jacksonville, Florida, headquarters, he has held positions of manager of business development, director of business development, director of project development, division leader, senior vice president—education facilities, and vice president—organizational development. In addition, Mr. Balz serves as the company's media spokesman and serves on the Corporate Contributions Committee. He has provided governmental relations and legislative lobbying to broaden authority for public agencies' use of innovative project delivery methods. The legislative changes to Florida's statutes for public procurement opened new doors for public agencies and providers to accelerate project delivery and create substantial project savings.
Mr. Balz has been active in many community organizations including Leadership Jacksonville, Young Life Jacksonville, Jacksonville Community Council, Inc., and the regional board of directors for The Y. His credentials include a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina, Florida General Contractor's License, USGBC LEED Accredited Professional, and Florida Building Contractor's License.
