James H. Costner
Senior Vice President (Retired)
Prior to his retirement in 2011 from Willis North America, Mr. Costner served as senior vice president, Property Practice, where he consulted with Willis offices and their large clients on matters related to property insurance coverage design, marketing, and loss adjusting. He has taught risk management at the American University in Washington, DC, and insurance law, property insurance, and property insurance underwriting at Nashville Tech in Tennessee. In addition to his extensive speaking experience, Mr. Costner is widely published, contributing many articles in leading industry publications.
Mr. Costner was a 1992 recipient of the IRMI Words of Wisdom (WOW) Award, presented at the 12th IRMI Construction Risk Conference. The award recognizes a speaker who has made an outstanding contribution to the annual conference, which International Risk Management Institute, Inc., hosts.
