James L. Shelby, CIC, CPCU

Mr. Shelby has been in the insurance industry since 1986, first as an underwriter for Travelers Insurance and then as an adviser/consultant to for-profit and nonprofit organizations. In addition to insurance placement services, he has provided fee-based insurance analysis and consulting services for banks/financial institutions and real estate clients. Prior to Harris F. Underwood III, Inc., Mr. Shelby worked for Frost Insurance and its predecessor agency, Sammons Insurance Group. He also gained valuable experience in risk management working for Marsh and, prior to its acquisition by Marsh, Sedgwick. He has worked with companies in a variety of industries, utilizing his expertise to help them cost effectively manage their risks.

Mr. Shelby graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of arts degree. He is a licensed insurance agent and risk manager.
