Laurie Briggs Young

Ms. Young is coauthor of "The Longshore Act Including OCSLA" and "The Defense Base Act." She is a graduate of the University of Miami and received her law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans. She joined Adams and Reese in 1991 and is a partner in the Litigation Group focusing her practice on the litigation of maritime and energy, labor and employment, and general litigation matters. Ms. Young has defended claims in many venues including state and federal courts, the offices of administrative law judges, and the offices of workers compensation judges. She is a frequent guest lecturer at area law seminars as well as at private seminars and in-house programs developed for individual clients. She also sits on the Pro Bono Mentoring Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is active in representation of pro bono clients in juvenile court in Orleans Parish.
