Mr. Layton was the global leader for the enterprise risk services practice at Deloitte & Touche LLP.
During his 30-year career, Mr. Layton held a number of industry, functional, and marketplace leadership roles, including energy industry national audit partner or industry leader, mid-America managing partner, Canadian managing partner audit and enterprise risk services, and US managing partner for enterprise risk services. He also served on a number of Deloitte & Touche committees, including US Nominating Committee, Canadian Executive/Operating Committee, the US Executive/Operating Committee, and the Global Audit Leadership Team.
Mr. Layton was actively involved as the lead client service partner or advisory partner on a number of key clients, including the Coastal Corporation, Dean Foods, Halliburton, TXU Energy, and Valero Energy Corporation. He frequently testified as an expert witness in bankruptcy and litigation matters involving the energy and utility industries.
Mr. Layton holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin University and is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the state of Texas. He is an active supporter in the community, serving on the board of the Dallas Theater Center, and is also a member of the Society of International Business Fellows, serving as a committee member of the Texas chapter.
