Michael A. Orlando, Jr.

Michael Orlando Jr. writes on maritime law for IRMI.com. His column presents the basics for a general understanding of the application of admiralty and maritime law and the effects that certain judicial opinions may have on parties in the offshore energy, marine, and insurance industries.

He is an attorney with Phelps Dunbar LLP in Houston, where he specializes in energy and marine litigation. Mr. Orlando has represented many Lloyd's underwriters and foreign insurers, Fortune 500 companies, and business interests of all sizes. A seasoned litigator, he has steered insurers and insureds through every step of a dispute, resolving multimillion-dollar disputes for oil field services companies, shipyard and vessel owners, and everything in between.
