Phillip Skaggs works for the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS), a national nonprofit insurance advisory organization, where he focuses on compliance, program development, government relations, emerging risk assessment, and corporate matters. Mr. Skaggs specializes in cannabis insurance issues and advises insurers on the impacts of cannabis regulations, industry trends, and market growth. He is the pioneer and architect of standardized cannabis insurance solutions for the admitted market, including the Cannabis Businessowners Policy (CannaBOP) and Commercial Cannabis Liability (CannaBility) programs. Prior to joining AAIS, he worked as an insurance coverage and commercial litigation attorney.
