William H. Perkins

Mr. Perkins graduated from Loyola University of the South and later joined a family-owned insurance agency in Orlando, Florida. After more than 12 years as a commercial insurance sales agent, he was hired by the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) as a commercial lines instructor. In addition to teaching the principal commercial insurance disciplines of business auto, commercial general liability, property, and workers compensation, Mr. Perkins has interests in longshore and maritime employment coverage issues. He was also responsible for FAIA's annual Legislative Roundup sessions.

Mr. Perkins formerly served on the Florida Appeals Board of the National Council on Compensation Insurance and the Technical Affairs Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association and as a member of the Mid-America Insurance Conference. Additionally, he was the Florida coordinator of the Agent and Broker Education Network.

In September 2014, Mr. Perkins joined Liberty Mutual as the Midwest region's senior training specialist. Currently, his territory includes the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Central regions. His duties involve providing commercial insurance training/education and development.

Mr. Perkins has earned the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations and the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®) certification. He is also a frequent speaker at the IRMI Construction Risk Conference (CRC).

Mr. Perkins was the 2001 recipient of the IRMI Words of Wisdom (WOW) Award, presented at the 21st IRMI CRC.

In 2013, Mr. Perkins was awarded the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America Spirit of Education Award.
